Delivering State of the Art Treatment Methods

The Wound Center received a referral in December 2012 for a patient with a non-healing ulcer of the heel. This ulcer had limited the patient’s mobility, forcing the patient to use a wheel chair. The staff at the Wound Center presented the possibility of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to the patient. The patient and his wife seemed apprehensive and intimidated by the treatment method. They sought second, third, and even fourth opinions. After much contemplation, the patient decided to start HBOT in February 2013.

After standard treatments, the patient’s wound is healed and he no longer needs a wheelchair. This is just another story of how the Wound Center is delivering state of the art treatment methods that improve patient health and ability to enjoy life.
